CEFRIEL was established in 1988 by some notable inspired people: Marisa Bellisario, Ottorino Beltrami (that time President of Assolombarda), and two professors of Politecnico di Milano: Francesco Carassa and Maurizio Decina (prof. Decina was the first Scientific Director of CEFRIEL).
We started our activities in October 1988 with post-graduate education programs. In particular, we kicked-off the first Italian Master in Information Technology, which was run for 20 editions. At the beginning of 1990, we began to actively participate to EU international research programs. Around the mid of 1990, we started the first innovation projects with companies and public authorities.
We have always employed the best PhD students from universities and the best students from the IT Master editions, together with experienced professionals. We have created a unique mix of competences able to merge the academic and scientific knowledge with the typical industrial and business expertise.
CEFRIEL shareholders include Universities (Politecnico di Milano, Università degli Studi di Milano, Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, Università degli Studi dell’Insubria), Public Authority (Lombardy Region), and leading multinational companies.
Our everyday interactions and activities are always driven by strong ethical principles and shared organization guidelines.
